IFSC PARA CLIMBING CUP
1st International Blind Climbing Competition
Date: 4,5 December. 2010
Place: Narashino, Chiba, Japan
Climbing is a very suitable sport for those who have a visual disability,
because not only is one protected by the safety rope,
but also one challenges a route or wall which never moves.
These aspects have been recognized as obvious by some international congresses,
and so activities by visually disabled climbers have been reported since the 1990s from around the world.
Since 2005 we started to organize competitions for blind climbers and have tried to provide blind people with opportunities to climb in Japan!
Now, the Japan Mountaineering Association is pleased to announce
that the 1st international blind climbing competition will take place in Narashino, Chiba, Japan, 2010.
We hope that this event will be one which will enhance the promotion of para climbing around the world.
