The Competition Rule

Each competitor will make his/her attempt for both on-sight and after-work. The overall ranking of each competitor will be calculated according to the results of these two categories. Both of them will be carried out under top-rope condition in consideration of safety.
Only one coach is allowed to support each climber by voice during after-work category. Those coaches, as well as the climbers, must register officially in advance.

On-sight competition

This category aims to see the blind climbers’ ability to solve climbing problem by themselves.
All climbers will enter the isolation zone, and a 3D route map(*) will be distributed for “observation” by finger one hour before beginning of competition. Climbing time is 10 minutes. Some holds have additional marks (on the wall) to tell the direction of next holds (See the picture)
※3D route map : A sheet of paper with some unevenness on the surface, which is called Relief Copy. You can touch them and recognize the places of the holds.
The order is from B3 to B1.
All other rules during the competition are according to IFSC’s regulations.

After-work

Blind climbers’ physical climbing ability will be measured in this category. They will climb a route after 15 minutes practice.
After on-sight competition on December 4th, each climber can practice the after-works route with top-rope for 15 minutes in order of the on-sight competition. During trial, climbers can get advices by their coach. The trials are open to the other climbers and the coaches.
The next day afternoon, on 5th, the after-works competition will be held. The climbing time limit is 10 minute for each climber.
On the after-work day, climbers will enter the isolation zone with officially pre-registered coaches...Those coaches can support their climbers with voice during the competition.
The climbing order is in reverse order of the ranking of on-sight competition.

• The overall rankings are decided according to the geometric mean of ranking points of on-sight and after-work.
• In addition to the overall rankings, rankings by classes of B1, B2 and B3 for men and women are announced, only when the class has more than three participants.
